In Dubai, I decided to take advantage of the sunny side of an extremely schizophrenic weather. So after having breakfast with a view at Ballaro Dubai, I jumped in my bathing suit and headed to Purobeach Dubai; which is also a part of the Conrad Dubai.
I didn’t have much time there, but I wasn’t planning to leave without soaking some sun and having a poolside drink (not to miss at Purobeach); as my next Dubai trip is scheduled after June. From there, I had to select an outfit that would work for both Beirut and Dubai because I was heading to the Mall of the Emirates (you gotta visit Harvey Nichols there) and from there to the airport right back to Beirut. At the mall, by the way, my brother insisted we eat at PF Changs (he’s a big fan in Beirut); but the place in Dubai turned out much better which is something I can say about many chains.
So for this day, I had to use whatever I was left with, as I was truly shocked with the weather which I initially expected much hotter. I’ve never been to Dubai in March, and I was under the impression it was going to be the same hot weather I am used to. A big faux pas though, was wearing a heavily metal studded pair of shoes during the trip back to Beirut; you just have no idea how many times I had to take it off at security checks in both airports.
This is something I never thought of before, probably because I never wore too much metals or accessories during my flights. And right on the day I decided to pull out that pair of wearable Mirkavas, the security checks everywhere just dropped out of my mind. So my advice here would be, well, never to select style over convenience in airports!!!
