Four Ways for Styling Polka Dots When You’ve Got Curves

Styling polka dots can get a little tricky when you’ve got curves, because this specific pattern usually makes anyone look a little bit chubbier. Nevertheless, that doesn’t mean you need to shy away from polka dots if you love them.

In this article, I will teach you three ways for styling polka dots if you’ve got curves:

top lebanese influencers

-Style 1:

Opt for light colored dots on a dark background, such as white on black. This type of polka dots contribute much less to the curvy effect than the other way around.

-Style 2:

Opt for smaller patterns, like small light dots instead of bigger dots; for the same reason above.

-Style 3:

Pick polka dots pieces for the section of your body that’s thinner than the rest. For instance, if you are an apple shape, wear a polka dots skirt; whereas if you are a pear shape (like me) then opt for a polka dots top.

-Style 4:

If you want to wear a dress or jumpsuits that is patterned as polka dots, make sure you have a thin waist first, then opt for a combination of the rules in style 1 and 2.

For this outfit, and because I totally wanted to go for a polka dots jumpsuit (something I never wore before), I chose small light dots on a black background. I also had to alter the design to make it tighter around my waist, which is the thinnest part of me. To add a pop of color, I selected a Brian Atwood hot pink patent leather pump and Mulberry hot pink clutch!
